Roses are Red
Violets are Blue
Remember I said
I really love you...
I was looking up some sappy love poetry to read tonight to lighten my spirits and I came across just the simple lines above. Cute and to the point. Not great works by Shakespeare or Keats or even Wilde's know it all sayings.
Just cute and to the point.
Roses are wonderful sentiments of true, passionate love. The scent of a rose is intoxicating and the plant itself, if cared for properly through all weather, is sturdy and long living. Violets are sweet and gentle flowers which will spread throughout a garden with ease. Bringing the two together in such a simple rhyme says quite a bit of what the author is trying to convey.
Flowers + poetry....Ahhh! The way to a romantic's heart. It has worked for hundreds, if not thousands of years. And as long as there are those of us out there that still sigh when we read bad hallmark cards, are wooed by simple love notes, sway to the sound of a sweet love song, and melt with a gift of a single flower...
Romance will not be dead.
Love will not been forgotten.
And florists will still have jobs.
Remember: We all have had times of pain, heartbreak, and lost love. But that does not mean give up. There is a lot of life out there in that big world...and a lot of love too...If you are willing to share a little.
Even if it starts with just a few cute lines :)
Roses are Red
Violets are blue...
